CEF Gwinnett County Christmas Celebration!
“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
To God be the glory, great things He hath done,
So loved He the world that He gave us His Son,
Who yielded His life an atonement for sin,
And opened the life gate that all may go in.
“To God be the glory, great things He hath done.” I couldn’t say it better than Fanny Crosby did back in 1875. God has done so many great things this year and our Christmas Celebration was our time to give Him glory. Our CEF Gwinnett County Board members, staff and their spouses celebrated at the beautiful home of Peg Stephenson on December 11th.
God uses many people in this ministry. Tom and Wendy Brand received an award for their 5 years of service on our CEF Gwinnett County Board. We ask God to bless them for their dedication to this ministry. I thank God for Leanne Jones, our new area coordinator for the Buford area. I am also very thankful for all of our Board members who faithfully serve in a Good News Clubs every week and one in particular who does double duty. Donna Weaver, who is new to our board, has done amazing work as our webmaster. We rejoice at the great things God has done.
As I look back to 2010, I didn’t have a six-year plan in place to grow this ministry. I prayed, prayed, and prayed for God’s direction. His plan for me was to follow HIS PLAN! I can now look back and see His plan. It was bigger than I imagined; 4 to 40 schools in 6 years!
We can make our plans and say that it might take us another 6 years to accomplish our goal of 83 schools in this county, but I know my God has a bigger plan than we can imagine. I love what Daniel Curnam, the chief architect who rebuilt Chicago after the fire, said, “Make no small plans for they have no ability to stir men’s hearts.” God has no small plans. His plans are big! Ephesians 3:20 says, “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine…” He loves this ministry and He could max us out! Is it possible? YES! Can God do this? YES! Will God do this? I believe He will! He desires for all the little children to come to Him. I’m going to continue praying! Look what He has done, 40 schools in Gwinnett and three in Walton County with over 2,000 children attending and 300 leaders serving in the clubs. The best news is that we are seeing many children receive Jesus as their Savior!
I can’t wait to see what God is going to do in 2018. My heart’s desire is to give Him glory and to accomplish HIS will on earth! I am both humbled and grateful. All I can say is… To God be the glory great things He has done! On behalf of my CEF board and staff we pray you have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
