First-year volunteers must follow the path marked with the ♥️. Returning volunteers may attend these classes or any of the other options.

Session 1 Class Options

  • What is Good News Club ~ Our staff will condense a Good News Club to show you what happens during a club.  We will also present a brief history of Child Evangelism Fellowship®. Our demonstration will be a shortened and lively version of a club.♥️
  • Learning Styles ~  What are the different God-given ways people (therefore children) learn? Understanding learning styles will enable you to teach to those different learning styles during club whether you are teaching the Bible lesson or hosting the review game.
  • Engaging Children ~ What keeps a child engaged and listening to the speaker (you) instead of rolling around on the floor or finding his neighbor’s side to punch? How do you grab the attention and then keep it for the entirety of the time you are talking?

Session 2 Class Options

  • Wordless Book ~ Child Evangelism Fellowship has adopted the Wordless Book as its method of sharing the way of salvation. Is it the only way to present the gospel? NO, however by staying with this one method we can use it throughout the curriculum and simplify the gospel message presented in a club. You will need your Bible as we will mark them to help you as you present the gospel.♥️
  • Special Needs as Seen in Club ~ Ever had THAT child in the club; the one who cannot sit still and cannot keep his hands from roaming where they don’t belong? Does that frustrate you? Learn more about the children with mild special needs like ADHD, sugar intolerance, etc. Learn how to reach these children and make the club a safe, fun place for them.
  • Enhancing Learning with Games ~ Learning can be fun. Fun can be learning. Yes, you can teach while you play a game! And when the club is fun, children want to return next week, and they want to bring friends. The result is not only fun learning but repeat visits to the club. But we don’t want to lose control of the club during game time, and we don’t want to waste time. Can we do all that? Yes, come learn how.
  • Effective Small Groups ~ Are your small groups more than snack time? Do you build bonds with the children, learn about their families, and know their problems? Do you discuss it with them? Disciple them? Want to learn how to do these things in the time allotted while the children (and you) have a good time? Come join us.

Session 3 Class Options

  • Bible Lesson ~ During this session you will learn how the wordless book method is incorporated into the Bible lesson time. The curriculum is written, not for you to read, but for you to use as a guide. Learn how to use it, and the purposes of each part of the lesson. Whether you are the Bible teacher or not, understanding how the curriculum flows and how it interacts with all aspects of the club will benefit you and your ability to help during club.♥️
  • Growing Your Club ~ Is your club stagnating? No new children? No new volunteers? Come join us as we discuss ways to grow your club both students and volunteers. We will share resources, methods, and tried ways of growing your club.
  • Prayer Time in Club ~ Does your club include teaching your students how to communicate with God? Prayer is talking to God or our Father, but children don’t have good earthly fathers to learn how and when to pray. Come learn to teach praying during club.
  • Connecting with Children in Hard Places ~ Children in hard places include those who have had trauma in their young lives. Trauma includes the worst you can think of to those who have moved to a new school. Not all children have adults in their lives to help them handle this trauma. Come join foster parents as they help us learn how to identify the children and make the club a safe harbor for them.

Session 4 Class Options

  • IPEAR Method of Memory Verse ~ Learn how to use the IPEAR method of teaching the memory verse each week. Whether you lead in teaching the verse or are not, learning this will enhance your part of the club and your time of listening to memorized verses.♥️
  • Gen Z ~ This is the generation we are teaching in our clubs. These children have different areas of concern that we did not have. Come learn how these children are being taught, the influences in their lives, and how better to reach them for Jesus.
  • Growth Bible Lesson & Disciplining Our Kids ~ Many of our Bible lessons are not the Gospel lesson as taught in the Bible Lesson session, but instead are designed to grow our Christian children. Learn the differences and how to use the curriculum to grow kids. Other areas of the club that help us disciple our kids will also be discussed.
