Back to school conference 2021

Date: Saturday, September 11. 2021

Time: Doors open at 7:45am with Conference starting at 8:30am. Final session will be completed by 1:30pm

Notes about Conference

  • New volunteers need to attend the classes with ♥️; however, these classes are open to all volunteers who want a refresher on any topic.
  • Name tags will be mailed to you after conference. Your picture will be on the name tag so be sure to plan time to stop by one of the Picture Spots before, during, or after the conference.
  • Lanyards for Name Tags will be avaialable if you do not alredy have one.
  • Refreshments will be available and maintained during the conference. Please stop by as ofter as you like.
  • Lunch will be served at 1:00pm where you can get with your school’s team and make plans (working lunch)
  • We have several giveaways to give to some fortunate volunteer during the lunch time. One example is

Opening Session

All Volunteers will be in this large group session.

Session One

  • ♥️What is Good News Club© (CEF Staff & Volunteers) The new volunteer will see a glimpse at the elements of a Good News Club© and understand the purpose of the ministry of Child Evangelism Fellowship©
  • Managing Your Classroom  (Chris Reynolds) Learn tips from a Gwinnett County School teacher in this practical session on how to best engage and encourage kids in your club through strong transitions and effective redirection.c
  • Prayer in Schools (Erika Bowman) Enter His Gates with Thanksgiving  Every great movement of God can be traced to a kneeling figure. ~D.L.Moody  This session will focus on placing prayer at the foundation of your club as well as practical tips on how to effectively teach children to pray. 

Session Two

All Volunteers will be in this large group session.

Session three

  • ♥️Evangelistic Bible Lessons, Level 1 (Leanne Jones & Cathy Hicks) Do you desire to teach God’s Word to change the lives of children for eternity? This first level of giving a Bible lesson will help you to understand the steps to follow when preparing a Bible lesson that includes the powerful message of salvation. 
  • Around the Corner – Around the World  (Beth Wilson) Give the children in your club a worldwide vision of the need to reach the lost with the Gospel by acquainting children with current and past missionaries and their lives lived out for Christ.
  • Review Can Be Exciting (Donna Weaver) This hands on class will inspire leaders to engage kids in fun, active learning to reinforce the lessons learned each week.  Review games help kids to connect to the lesson, the teacher, and each other. 

Session Four

  • ♥️Teaching Scripture Memory (Kristi Grable) Learn this effective way to make Scripture memory meaningful and applicable in the lives of the children in your club
  • An Open Door – Reaching Your Community for Christ  Pastor Drue Warner shares how he has used Good News Club© as an open door to build community with kids,  parents, teachers, and school administration. Learn practical ways to be a light in your school beyond your club hour.
  • Bible Lessons – Level 2  Leanne Jones & Cathy Hicks) This session is for the Good News Club© teacher who has already attended Level 1.  This class will start with the introduction and end with the invitation.   An overview of the first teaching series for the school year will be given.
  • Counseling a Child for Salvation  (TBA) This session is packed with practical, situational examples of a counsel time that takes place after the Bible lesson.  Become confident to boldly share the gospel with children during counsel time as they respond to the Gospel during club.
